UNIVERSITY PARK -- Some tickets are still available for a charity sneak peek event at the new Mall at University Town Center the night before it opens to the public.

Ten Manatee and Sarasota charities were allotted a portion of 2,500 total tickets, which are being sold for $100 apiece. Four of them -- All Faiths Food Bank, the Food Bank of Manatee, Nate's Honor Animal Rescue and Girls Inc. of Sarasota -- have already sold out of their allotment, said mall spokeswoman Amanda Parrish.

Six charities still had tickets available as of Thursday afternoon: the Manatee Players, the South Florida Museum & Bishop Planetarium, Boys & Girls Clubs of Sarasota County, the Circus Arts Conservatory/Sailor Circus, Florida Studio Theater and Mote Marine Laboratory & Aquarium.

Tickets can be purchased online at themallatuniversitytowncenter.com/events, where you'll be directed to individual charity links you can choose to support.

The Sneak Peek Charity Preview will be from 6:30-9:30 p.m. Oct. 15. The $100 admission includes valet parking, food, wine, beer, live entertainment and a chance to explore the 880,000-square-foot mall now under construction at Interstate 75 and University Parkway.

Many of the mall's more than 100 stores and restaurants will be open and offering exclusive discounts that night. Guests will also receive a $20 mall gift card when they check in.
