Bradenton woman nabbed on lunchtime theft charges from Publix

BRADENTON — A Bradenton woman was arrested on theft charges Tuesday after ordering items from a deli and placing them into an empty bag, according to the Palmetto Police Department.

At 11:57 a.m. Tuesday, 23-year-old Amy Joy Prats was charged with theft from a Publix Super Market, 1101 Eighth Ave W., Palmetto.

Prats reportedly ordered deli items and placed them in an empty bag with other items before leaving the store. While she waited for her family to finish shopping, police said Prats hid items in bushes at an auto discount store near the supermarket.

According to police, the stolen items included two bags of Goldfish snacks, fried chicken, onion rings, wedges, two Secret deodorants and two packs of dipping sauce. The totalreportedly came to $25.56.

Prats was booked in jail on $120 bond and released the same day.
