BRADENTON -- A Bradenton woman was arrested Tuesday and charged with stealing from her employer multiple ways, according to the Manatee County Sheriff's Office.

Dominique Lynn Mapes, 21, is charged with theft after she stole from Macy's as far back as Aug. 6, 2013. She was arrested at 12:40 p.m. Tuesday at 303 301 Blvd W., a report states.

According to a probable cause affidavit, Mapes purchased listed items for the listed amount and then processed a refund without returning the merchandise. She was an employee of the department store at the time.

On another occasion, Mapes placed an additional $130 of merchandise into a friend's bag without charging her. According to deputies, the friend left without paying.

A woman named in the report stated that Mapes processed five refunds of $40 each, which totaled to $200 in fraudulent refunds. Mapes was being held in jail on $1,500 bond.
