Bradenton man charged with shoplifting, pill popping

BRADENTON — A Bradenton man was charged with shoplifting Sunday after he was found concealing deli items in his pants, according to the Bradenton Police Department.

Christopher Jarod Nienhius, 30, was arrested at 1:11 p.m. Sunday at 3913 Manatee Ave. after he reportedly exited the store with items in his pants. Nienhius was stopped bny store personnel and brought to the loss prevention office.

There, he reportedly tried to swallow two yellow Xanax pills. He reportedly had no proof of a prescription for the pills. Nienhius was also charged with posession of a controlled substance.

Booking information for the suspect was not immediately available.
