SARASOTA -- One northbound lane of Interstate 75 in southern Sarasota County will be closed for about an hour due to a gravel spill, according to the Sarasota County Sheriff's Office.

The accident, which was reported at 9:48 a.m., happened at Clark Road, according to the sheriff's office and Florida Highway Patrol.

"The Florida Highway Patrol is attempting to keep one lane open as another gets cleaned up," the sheriff's office said. "Traffic is slow but not being forced to divert off the interstate. Motorists are still advised to avoid the area or expect delays."
