Crocodile attacks dog in Key Largo canal

A crocodile attacked a 65-pound dog swimming in a canal behind Stillwright Point in Key Largo Tuesday.

The dog survived the attack, but required veterinary care.

The 40-pound crocodile was removed by Florida Fish and Wildlife Conservation Commission officers.

State crocodile expert Lindsey Hord cautioned people not to let their pets swim in canals where crocodiles are seen.
