Recent shallowing of the entrance to Longboat Pass is evident as shallow waters contrast with the deeper blue waters. Dredging of Longboat Pass is scheduled to begin Wednesday, May 14. The dredge Maya Caelyn will be disposing sand from the shallowing inlet onto Longboat Key at Oceanside Beach. The dredging work should be completed around July 31, 2014.
