Sheriff: Deputy uses stun gun to arrest drunk man at Walmart

MANATEE -- A highly intoxicated man was arrested and charged with disorderly conduct Tuesday at 11:27 a.m. after causing a scene at a Walmart in Sarasota, according to the Manatee County Sheriff's Office.

Curtis T. Young, 36, was asked to leave the store at 8320 Lockwood Ridge Road several times and refused, according to a news release.

"He was soliciting customers for money," the news release states.

According to the report, Young fled on foot as deputies attempted to take him into custody.

"A taser was deployed and Young was taken into custody and transported to jail," the release states.

Young has a history of previous charges, which include battery and failure to leave property upon order by owner.

Booking information for Young's latest charge was not immediately available on the Manatee County Sheriff's Office website.
