BRADENTON -- A man told officers he was robbed after he stopped in a downtown Bradenton parking lot to fight another driver he had exchanged words with while driving, according to Bradenton police.

About 5:52 p.m. Monday in the 1200 block of Manatee Avenue West, the victim "advised that he was driving through the listed area and at one point exchanged words with an unknown driver of another vehicle," a report states.

Both drivers stopped in an empty parking lot to "physically settle their differences. The victim advised that two other individuals got out of the other car as well and battered him," the report states.

During the fight, someone took about $480 out of the victim's pocket, police said.

The victim refused medical treatment.

The investigation is ongoing.
