Elks Lodge to take injured or disabled vets fishing

MANATEE -- Bradenton Elks Lodge #1511 is hosting its second annual fishing trip for injured or disabled veterans. This is an inshore fishing trip and is scheduled for July 26, leaving from Warner's Bayou Boat Ramp at 5800 Riverview Blvd., Bradenton.

All equipment, snacks, and beverages for the anglers are included.

The lodge is also inviting anglers and their spouses to the Bradenton Elks Lodge #1511 at 2511 75th St. W. on Sunday the day after the trip for a fish fry where volunteers will prepare and cook their catch from the fishing trip. This is one of the ways the Elks are able to give back to our local community and say thank you to veterans who have served the country and have sacrificed so much.

If you are, or know someone who is, a veteran who became disabled or sustained an injury while serving in uniform and would like to participate in this fishing trip, contact Michael Dinius of the Bradenton Elks Lodge at 941-737-6566 or by email at

Space is limited so reserve your spot as soon as you can.
