Cash a big player in Manatee County real estate

May 8, 2014

Cash sales common in Manatee

In Manatee County, cash sales are common in all sectors of the residential market.

Every month since January 2010, one-third to slightly more than half of all single-family home sales in the county have been cash deals, depending on the month. In March, 52 percent of 458 sales were for cash, according to statistics gathered by the Multiple Listing service. That percentage is virtually the same as in March 2013.

The percentages are even higher in the townhome and condo market. Over the past year, more than 70 percent of those sales were done for cash every month but three. March saw 73 percent of the county's 208 townhome and condo sales done on a cash basis.

Most manufactured homes in the county sell for cash. Nearly 95 percent of those sold in March were cash deals. That's in line with a 97.7-percent figure a year earlier.
