Sunrise, FL (SportsNetwork.com) - The Florida Panthers and forward Rocco Grimaldi agreed to an entry-level contract on Wednesday.

The 5-foot-6 right-handed shooter completed his junior campaign at North Dakota with team highs of 17 goals, 22 assists and 39 points in 42 games.

"We are very pleased to have reached a contract agreement with Rocco," said Panthers GM Dale Tallon. "He is a hard working forward who possesses speed along with great vision on the ice. We look forward to his continued growth and development within our organization."

Grimaldi posted one of three hat tricks during the NCAA hockey Tournament this season, tallying three times to give the Fighting Sioux a 5-2 victory over Wisconsin in the semifinals of the Midwest Regional on March 28.

A second-round selection (33rd overall) of the Panthers in the 2011 draft, Grimaldi posted 31 goals and 46 assists over 86 appearances for North Dakota, which advanced to the national semifinals before enduring a heartbreaking, last-second defeat to Minnesota.
