With gratitude ...

Over the past 56 years at our office on Manatee Avenue West, I have encountered many instances of the competence and kindness from our law, fire and EMT departments.

The oftentimes difficult and dangerous situations they come upon require intelligence and bravery that our local citizens never have to deal with.

My thanks and appreciation go out to Manatee County Sheriff Brad Steube, Bradenton Police Chief Michael Radzilowski, Bradenton Fire Chief Charles Edwards, and Palmetto Police Chief Rick Wells for the professional jobs their departments perform.

Keeping us safe from criminal activities and the expert care we receive when involved in accidents and fires are beyond compare. We owe our deepest gratitude to these fine men and women.

May I close by complimenting the Bradenton Sanitation Department for the excellent job they did cleaning up Manatee Avenue immediately following the Desoto Grand Parade. Considering everything, we are very fortunate to call Manatee County our home.

May health and safety continue to attend all of these fine people.
