Desmond Jennings named AL Player of the Week

New York, NY (SportsNetwork.com) - Tampa Bay Rays outfielder Desmond Jennings has been named the American League Player of the Week for the period ending May 4.

Jennings batted .355 with three doubles, three homers, three RBI, eight runs scored and three stolen bases to claim his first career Player of the Week honor.

Other noteworthy performances last week included Toronto's Colby Rasmus, Cleveland's Carlos Santana, Mark Teixeira of the Yankees, Baltimore's Ubaldo Jimenez, Boston's Jon Lester and Sonny Gray of the Athletics.
