— A man suffered only minor injuries after his car overturned when it was struck by a hit-and-run driver Saturday afternoon, according to the Florida Highway Patrol.

Jabari Breyaun Olave, 29, of Sarasota, was driving eastbound in the center lane of University Parkway approaching Louisiana Street around 12:28 p.m. when another vehicle began to change lanes directly in his path, an FHP report states.

Olave steered his 2007 Lexus IS 250 to the left to avoid a collision and lost control of his car, according to the report. The car traveled into the median and overturned.

Olave suffered minor injuries and was not admitted to the hospital. He was wearing a seat belt at the time of the crash, the report indicates.

No description was given of the other vehicle.

Anyone who has information about the vehicle or its driver is asked to contact the FHP at 239-938-1800.
