— A motorist was cited for careless driving after her car hydroplaned and struck a school bus Friday afternoon.

No injuries were reported in the crash, which happened around 1:10 p.m. on U.S. 301 at 91st Avenue East, according to a Florida Highway Patrol report.

Three students, ages 5, 7 and 12, were on the bus at the time of the accident.

According to the report, the bus was headed northbound in the right lane of U.S. 301. A 2001 Mitsubishi Galant was next to it in the left lane when the driver hydroplaned, causing its front right side to collide with the center left side of the bus.

The driver, identified as 58-year-old Doris Snook of Bradenton, was charged with careless driving and no proof of valid insurance at the time of the crash, FHP investigators said.

The students were released to their parents shortly after the crash.
