Music on Main: Main Street, Lakewood Ranch

Main Street at Lakewood Ranch will host a Music on Main concert 6-9 p.m. May 2 featuring live music by Shotgun Justice. Beer, wine and food sales benefit the Food Bank of Manatee. Fourth annual Food and Wine on Pine: along Pinve Avenue, Anna Maria Island

The fourth annual Food and Wine on Pine will be 11 a.m.-6 p.m. May 3 featuring upscale art and culinary events showcasing fresh, local and seasonal Florida food provided by 25 of the area's locally owned and independent restaurants as well as creative offerings from the student culinary program of Manatee Technical Institute. The food creations will be complimented by more than 30 wines and a variety of craft beers. In addition, there will be various art attractions a wide variety of musical performances. Entry fee: $2, children ages 11 and younger are admitted free. The event provides free trolley rides from the Anna Maria Island Community Center and Crosspoint Fewlloship Church to Pine Avenue. Amateur sand sculpture contest: Siesta Key Beach, Sarasota

Head to world-famous Siesta Key Beach for the 42nd annual Siesta Key Beach Amateur Sand Sculpture Competition 8:30 a.m.-1 p.m. May 3, where kids and adults compete in a variety of categories for cash prices. Grab your shovels and create your own masterpiece, or simply take in all of the action and cast your vote for your favorite entry. The event is free and open to the public. Come and stroll the Beach Market at Coquina Beach 10 a.m.-4 p.m. Sundays through July.
