Palmetto man found shot to death in St. Pete

PALMETTO -- A 24-year-old Palmetto man was reportedly found shot to death Sunday in the road of a St. Pete neighborhood.

St. Petersburg police identified the victim as 24-year-old Joshua Smith, according to Bay News 9.

Neighbors called 911 around 5:45 a.m. Sunday after finding Smith lying in front of a home on Auburn Street South.

Detectives reported Smith was already dead from his injuries when they arrived.

St. Petersburg police are investigating Smith's death as a homicide.
