Brewers discussion: Motorworks Brewing, 1014 Ninth St. W., Bradenton, will hold a weekly brewers discussion at 6:30 p.m. Thursdays. One or more of our brewers will be give an hour-long discussion on beer styles and brewing. A different Motorworks Brewing beer will be on spotlight with the option to enjoy a snack paired perfectly for it. This educational discussion will include Q&A at the end. It is a great way for people to get to know their local brewers and learn more about beer and the brewing process. This is a free event, open to the public. Cookbook fundraiser: "Cooking with MTI" is the name of a new cookbook that students from Manatee Technical Institute's SkillsUSA Chapter are selling to raise money to help them go to national championships. More than 150 students participated in putting together the collection of approximately 300 recipes. Students and staff are selling the books books which contain recipes for appetizers, soups and salads, side dishes, entrees, desserts and breads. There is a section devoted to breakfast recipes, and there are recipes designated as parent and child projects. The book sells for $15. To purchase a book, stop by the MTI Bookstore at the Main Campus, 6305 S.R. 70 E., Bradenton. The bookstore is open 7:45 a.m. -4 p.m. Monday and Wednesday, until 7 p.m. Tuesday and 3 p.m. on Friday.
