2 hurt when truck crashes into their Bradenton home

April 28, 2014

MANATEE — Two people were injured, one seriously, when a vehicle rammed into their Bradenton home Monday, according to Florida Highway Patrol.

About 4:55 p.m., a 2001 Dodge Ram driven by Latonya Williams, 41, of Bradenton was sitting in the driveway of a home in the 2600 block of Fifth Stree East when she pushed the gas pedal instead of the brakes. The truck rammed the outside wall of the house and entered the kitchen, hitting two people, FHP said.

A 39-year-old woman sustained minor injuries while another woman was hospitalized in critical condition. FHP later said her condition had stabilized.

Williams was charged with careless driving, according to the report.
