Padres activate Maybin

Washington, DC (SportsNetwork.com) - The San Diego Padres have activated outfielder Cameron Maybin off the 15-day disabled list.

Maybin had been sidelined since early in spring training with a ruptured left biceps tendon. He played 10 games with Triple-A El Paso for a rehab assignment and hit .243 with a home run and four runs batted in.

The 27-year-old veteran was hurt during a Cactus League game in early March. He played in just 14 games last season because of wrist and knee issues.

San Diego optioned pitcher Kevin Quackenbush to El Paso to open a roster spot. Quackenbush was recalled on Friday and appeared in that night's game, allowing two runs on two hits in 1 2/3 innings.
