— Three people were beaten and one was robbed during a confrontation at a large street party in Palmetto, the Manatee County Sheriff's Office reports.

The victims, one 18 years old, one 19 and one a juvenile, were at the party in the 200 block of 27th Street East around 2:30 a.m. Saturday when the 18-year-old noticed a woman being battered by a man named "Reggie" and went to break it up, according to the sheriff's report.

"Reggie" punched the 18-year-old in the center of his face, then chased after him when he began running away, the report states.

The two other victims got inside one of their cars and attempted to leave. They drove to a dead end and were surrounded by several men, one of whom approached the driver's side window and punched the 19-year-old man through the window. He was then pulled from the vehicle, and several other men began punching and kicking him. One of them reached into his pocket, took his wallet, emptied it of $100 and threw it back of him.

The juvenile victim, who was sitting in the passenger seat, was pulled from the vehicle, and several people began hitting and kicking him, the report states.

The man who took the money then ordered everyone off both victims, who drove away and later met up with the 18-year-old victim. The 18-year-old suffered a swollen left eye, the 19-year-old a bloody nose and the juvenile was taken to Manatee Memorial Hospital with a swollen left cheek, deputies said.

The street party was broken up by the sheriff's office before the crime was reported, according to the release.

The first suspect, "Reggie" is described as a black man in his 20s or 30s, about 6-foot-1 and 200 pounds with short hair and a goatee and wearing a black shirt and blue shorts.

The second suspect who pulled the 19-year-old from the car is described as a black man in his 20s or 30s, 5-foot-11 and 180 pounds with dreads and wearing a white shirt and dark shorts.

The suspect who emptied the wallet is a black man in his 20s or 30s, 6 feet tall and 200 pounds with no shirt and dark shorts, the report states.

The suspect who dragged the juvenile from the car and battered him is a black man in his 20s or 30s, 6 feet tall and 180 pounds with medium dreads who had no shirt on and dark shorts, deputies said.

The investigation is ongoing.
