Baltimore, MD (SportsNetwork.com) - Baltimore Orioles first baseman Chris Davis left Friday's game against the Kansas City Royals before the fifth inning with a strained left oblique.

Davis grimaced while swinging in the third inning, but remained in the game before leaving between the fourth and fifth frames.

Ryan Flaherty moved from third base to first base, Jonathan Schoop shifted from second base to third base and Steve Lombardozzi came into the game to replace Davis and went to second base.

Davis, who led the majors with 53 home runs last season, was 0-for-2 with a strikeout before exiting.
