"Pines Run to Remember" 5K Run and 1-Mile Walk: Pines of Sarasota will be hosting a 5K Run and 1-Mile Walk "Pines to Remember" beginning with registration at 6:30 a.m. followed by the run/walk at 7:30 a.m. April 26 at Ca' d'Zan, Ringling Museum of art, 5401 Bay Shore Road, Sarasota. "Recycled Dreams" Teen Fashion Show: The Manatee County Central Library will host a "Recycled Dreams" Teen Fashion Show of recycled materials 2 p.m. April 26 at 1301 Barcarrota Blvd. W., Bradenton. Attendees will present an original article of clothing created from recycled items. Prizes will be awarded for the best entries. The show will feature entertainment by a DJ and various live musical acts. An "after party" will follow the event. The show is free and open to all on a first come, first serve basis. Third annual Barefoot Sunday: Leave your shoes for a needy soul and be a part of doing a great good for an effort to provide shoes, sandals, work boots, children's shoes, new or gently worn to any of the three services 7:30, 9 or 11 a.m. April 27 at Christ Episcopal Church's third annual Barefoot Sunday at 4030 Manatee Ave. W., Bradenton. Women's History Month celebration: The West Coast Woman's Club of Manatee County is presenting a program for Women's History Month "Honoring Humanitarian Women in Manatee County," 2-4:30 p.m. April 27 at Hope Lutheran Church, 4635 26th St. W., Bradenton. Speakers will be Cathy Slusser of Manatee Historical Society, Lieutenant Colonel Carol Barkalow, retired military, Former Mayor Bill Evers of FELT, and Clara Parker of West Coast Women's Club. There will be a silent auction and entertainment will be provided by Bonnie Ray Productions and vintage clothing and hats by ClaraBelle's. Door prizes: $10-$60. Sarasota Music Club Scholarship Awards Luncheon: The Sarasota Music Club's Scholarship Awards Luncheon will be at noon May 3 at Michael's On East, 1212 S. East Ave., Sarasota, and will feature performances by 2014 scholarship winners Maria Wirries, Phillip Hall, Natasha Snyder, Sara Morich, Logan Knutson, Ryan Brown, Nick McConnaughey and Cindy Grimes. "Date Night" Guinness Book of World Records attempt: "Live the Life" is hoping to make the Guinness Book of World Records for the largest number of organized dates on one night in one community on May 9. Couples who participate are requested to make a one-time suggested donation of $25 to Live the Life, after which they will plan their own date night on May 9. The funds raised will benefit Live the Life's mission to help marriages and families in crisis in our local community. Run For The Music 5K: Lakewood Ranch High School, 5500 Lakewood Ranch Blvd., Bradenton

Sarasota Orthopedic Associates will sponsor the Run For The Music 5K race beginning with registration at 7 a.m. followed by the 5K race, a Kids Dash, a 1-mile Fun Run and a Doggie 5K May 10. The chip timed race will follow a 5K course around the high school and county park. There are run categories for all ages and an after party and award presentation for all races. Food and beverages will be available for purchase. Registration: $30 adults, $20 students ages 18 and younger, $15 children ages 10 and younger, $30 dogs accompanied by an adult. Mother's Day Tea and Plant Sale: The Sarasota Succulent Society will host its third annual Mother's Day Tea and Plant Sale with seatings at 11 a.m. and 1 p.m. May 10-11 at the Sarasota Succulent Society Gardens, 1310 38th St., Sarasota. Visitors can enjoy High Tea with their mother or friends and tour the gardens. Proceeds will benefit the maintenance of the grounds and house of the Sarasota Succulent Society. Cost: $20. Dick Vitale Gala: Ritz-Carlton, 1111 Ritz Carlton Drive, Sarasota

The 2014 Dick Vitale Gala dinner will be 7 p.m. followed by an after-party featuring The Four Tops, May 16. Collegiate coaching greats Nick Saban, head football coach of Alabama; Tom Crean, head basketball coach of Indiana; and Mike Brey, head basketball coach of Notre Dame, will attend. Walk to Cure Arthritis: Help find a cure by participating in the 2014 Walk to Cure Arthritis fundraiser, beginning with registration 8-9 a.m. immediately followed by a three-mile and one-mile course May 17 at Payne Park, 2050 Adams Lane, Sarasota. The event will feature activities for the entire family. Pet owners are encouraged to bring their dogs. Tribute to Veterans Awards Luncheon: The Jewish Family and Children's Service of the Suncoast, will honor and recognize four veterans at their Tribute to Veterans Service to Community Awards Luncheon at noon May 27 at Michael's on East, 1212 South East Ave., Sarasota. Award recipients include Richard R. Alvarez, SSG, US Army, Christopher L. Davis, MSG, US Army, Andy Hooker, SPC 5th Class, US Army, and John C. O'Brien, Col (Ret.), US Army. Tickets: $45.
