Motorcyclist seriously injured in Bradenton crash

MANATEE -- A motorcyclist was injured in a crash Thursday morning when he collided with a car, according to Florida Highway Patrol.

About 10:20 a.m., the motorcyclist was traveling eastbound on 63rd Avenue East approaching the green traffic light at 15th Street East. A truck was westbound in the left turn lane on 63rd Avenue East approaching the same intersection, according to a news release.

The driver of the truck made a left turn in front of the motorcycle and was struck in the right rear side, according to the report.

The motorcyclist, a 27-year-old man from Bradenton, was taken to Blake Medical Center in Bradenton with serious injuries.

The driver the truck, who is from Tampa, was cited for violation of right-of-way.
