From the Sarasota County Sheriff's Office:

The Sarasota County Sheriff's Office has arrested three people for using lost or stolen credit cards to buy Visa gift cards at area Target stores.

Tactical Unit deputies, working with Target Asset Protection personnel, identified the suspects in an investigation into similar crimes earlier this month. On Wednesday the trio returned to Target on Cattlemen Road and were later located at the Fruitville Road store. The group used credit cards that were lost or stolen by victims who reported shopping at Prime Outlets Ellenton earlier in the day. The suspects attempted to buy thousands of dollars' worth of gift cards but after several transactions were declined bought gift cards totaling $997.33.

Deputies arrested Robert Lambert, DOB 8/12/85, of Lehigh Acres; Carl Williams, DOB 10/18/74, Cape Coral; and Cedric Walker, DOB 6/30/81, Tampa. The group is facing a total of eight felony charges for Criminal Use of Personal Identification or attempting to do so in connection with two victims' cards, but additional victims and transactions have been identified. More charges are pending as the investigation continues.
