Weather alert: Fog early Thursday in Bradenton could slow commute

MANATEE -- The Florida Highway Patrol is cautioning motorists to drive with caution in Manatee County early Thursday as dense fog reduces visibility on some parts of Interstate 75 and other roadways.

The National Weather Service says fog is reducing visibility in some areas to less than half a mile.

"If driving, slow down, use your low beam headlights and leave plenty of distance between you and the vehicle in front of you," the National Weather Service said.

The fog is expected to burn off, and Thursday should be sunny and warm, according to the Weather Service forecast.

Forecasters are calling for a high of 80.

Thursday evening and early Friday, the fog could return, according to the Weather Service.
