April 23, 2014

UNIVERSITY PARK -- Sexy lingerie store Victoria's Secret will be coming to the Mall at University Town Center.

The Columbus, Ohio, company filed a building permit application Wednesday with Sarasota County.

The lingerie company is owned by Lbrands, which manages Bath and Body Works, Pink, La Senza and Henri Bendel.

The 880,000-square-foot, two-level mall is expected to open Oct. 16 on the corner of University Parkway and Cattlemen Road, bringing stores such as Apple, Macy's, Dillard's, Saks Fifth Avenue, Brooks Brothers, Lululemon, Cheesecake Factory and more.

When open, the Taubman Centers-operated mall will only be the third shopping mall to open in the U.S. since 2006.
