Weather alert: Friday's storms could bring hail, strong winds to Bradenton

MANATEE -- Heavy rain is likely Friday in Bradenton, according to the National Weather Service.

Forecasters are calling for a 60 percent chance of showers and/or thunderstorms throughout the day and into the evening. Some of the storms could produce small hail, gusty winds and heavy rain, according to the Weather Service.

The expected high is 81, with easterly winds of 14 to 17 mph becoming southerly in the afternoon. Gusts could reach 24 mph.

Friday evening, the chance of rain remains at 60 percent. The expected low is 69.

More rain is possible early Saturday, but the Weather Service says the day should eventually turn mostly sunny, with a high near 74.

Easter Sunday should also be mostly sunny, with a high near 78.
