Nearly 600 acres in Parrish sell for $4 million

PARRISH -- A Sarasota company managed by a Bradenton real estate agent has purchased nearly 600 acres of grazing land in Parrish for $4 million.

Five separate parcels totalling 595 acres comprise the property, which is located northeast of the intersection of U.S. 301 and Wauchula Road. The property sold on April 11 to FH Parrish 62 LLC, a company managed by Eric Howell. The sellers were SR 62 Holdings and Reynold Glanz of Rancho Mirage, Calif.

According to Manatee

County records, SR 62 holdings held a 93.6-percent interest in the land, while Glanz held 6.4 percent. The state of Florida lists Glanz as the manager of SR 62 Holdings.

FH Parrish 62 financed the purchase using a $4.5 million mortgage it took out in partnership with a Bradenton company, Florida Homebuyers Insurance Inc. Florida's Division of Corporations lists Glanz as the director of the latter company.

The lender is Freedom Holdings Manatee, a company that -- according to the mortgage filed with Manatee County -- shares an address with FH Parrish 62. That address is 2 N. Tamiami Trail, Suite 104, Sarasota. The state lists Howell as Freedom's manager.

Howell is also president of Lancaster Realty in Bradenton. State documents show that Lancaster Realty and Freedom Holdings both operate out of 5306 Cortez Road, Suite 4, Bradenton.

Calls made to Howell for comment on the deal were not immediately returned.

The land sold in the deal links back to a $31 million purchase S.R. 62 Holdings made in 2005. The tracts sold to FH Parrish 62 were part of that deal, according to county records.
