Weather alert: A sunny Wednesday in Bradenton, but more rain coming

MANATEE -- Sunny skies should return to Bradenton on Wednesday, but keep your umbrellas handy.

The National Weather Service is calling for mostly sunny skies, with a high near 78 and east-northeasterly winds of 10 to 14 mph; gusts could reach 20 mph.

Wednesday night, forecasters are calling for mostly cloudy skies, with a low around 67. There is a 20 percent chance of showers; and gusty conditions are expected to persist.

Thursday afternoon through Saturday afternoon, forecasters are calling for a line of thunderstorms as a front stalls across central Florida. Thursday and Friday, the chance of rain in Bradenton was expected to vary between 60 and 80 percent.
