Red-light runners who kill people merit prison

April 16, 2014

This is regarding the article in the April 10 Bradenton Herald "Man gets one year in jail for killing rabbits."

What a joke. My childhood friend Donald Nader was killed by a red-light runner. I am sure the gal who ran the red light will be fined for running the red light, and the judge, if she goes to court, will tell her to be more careful.

My thinking is that anyone who causes a death due to running a red light should get a five-year jail sentence -- no matter what their excuse is.

Also, the woman who killed three people got her license suspended for one year. She is in her 80s and uses a walker. She should have had the license taken away for good.
