Arlington, TX (SportsNetwork.com) - The Seattle Mariners have recalled right- handed pitcher Blake Beavan from Triple-A Tacoma and named him the starter for Tuesday's road test against the Texas Rangers.

Beavan was originally drafted by the Rangers 17th overall in the 2007 amateur draft, but did not appear in a game before being shipped to Seattle in 2010 as part of the Cliff Lee deal.

The 25-year-old Texas native went 2-2 with a 6.46 earned run average in six games (five starts) for Seattle in the spring and was left off the team's Opening Day roster.

Since making his major league debut in 2011, Beavan has gone 16-19 with a 4.61 ERA in 53 games, including 43 starts, all with Seattle.

The Mariners optioned pitcher Lucas Luetge to Tacoma to make room for Beavan on the roster.
