Berkeley, CA (SportsNetwork.com) - The University of California named Cuonzo Martin head men's basketball coach on Tuesday.

Martin, who spent the last three seasons as head coach at Tennessee, replaces the retired Mike Montgomery.

Martin went 63-41 with the Vols program, leading the team to a 24-13 mark and an Elite Eight appearance this past season.

Montgomery guided Cal to its winningest six-year stretch in school history and completed his career with 130 victories, good for third on the school's all-time wins list.

Cal went 21-14 last season, culminating in a loss to SMU in the NIT.
