St. Petersburg man attacked by his own pit bull

April 14, 2014

A pit bull terrier owner was attacked by his dog in his St. Petersburg home on Friday morning.

The Pinellas County Sheriff's Office said Hai Trinh Dang, 50, had been arguing with his 16-year-old daughter, who was in her bedroom with the door closed. The dog was with her and became agitated as the father and daughter argued.

The dog attacked Dang when he opened the door, causing lacerations to his scalp, arm, hand and leg.

Dang was taken to a hospital with non-life threatening injuries. The dog was taken away by animal services. No charges have been filed.
