BRADENTON -- Officers seized "a large amount of suspected cocaine" after chasing two suspects early Monday, according to Bradenton police.

About 12:22 a.m., an officer tried to make contact with two people in the parking lot of the Village at Cortez apartments, 4880 51st St. W., "with suspected narcotics," police said in a report.

Both suspects fled, but one was taken into custody.

"The second subject fled into the woods. A K-9 track was unsuccessful when it ended in a swamp," police said.

"A large amount of suspected cocaine was seized," police said.
