Gunman robs Sarasota convenience store

SARASOTA -- A gunman Monday morning robbed a convenience store in Sarasota, according to the Sarasota County Sheriff's Office.

The hold-up happened about 7:20 a.m. at the Stop 'N Shop at 4201 S. Tamiami Trail.

The suspect was was described as being about 20 years old and standing 5 feet, 6 inches tall. He was last seen wearing all dark clothing, and he may be armed with a black semiautomatic handgun, according to the sheriff's office.
