Eighth annual Gulf Shore Animal League Scavenger Hunt: Organize a team of up to five people and participate in the eighth annual Gulf Shore Animal League's Scavenger Hunt 10 a.m.-4 p.m. April 12 beginning and ending at Palma Sola Park Pavilion, 7815 40th Ave. W., Bradenton. The day will feature a Gulf Shore Animal League Olympics and other fun park activities and many competitions including Kitty Kat Karaoke, Most Creative Costumes, and Best Team Spirit. The 21st annual Tropical Nights celebration: Meals on Wheels PLUS of Manatee will host its 21st annual Tropical Nights celebration 6-11 p.m. April 12 at the Renaissance on 9th, 1816 Ninth St. W., Bradenton. The "Vegas Lights" themed event will feature elaborate food displays, specialty drinks, live entertainments, casino-style games, interactive photo shoots, a "Chill Lounge" tribute to the posh Las Vegas nightclub scene, a silent auction and prize drawings. Sweet and Salty Ice Cream Social: The Florida Maritime Museum will host a family-friendly fundraiser featuring a Tyler's Ice Cream sundae bar 2-5 p.m. April 12 at 4415 119th St. W., Bradenton. There will be live music by Bill Vinhage, an artsy photo booth, unlimited popcorn, nautical twister and lots of other fun activities for all to enjoy. "An Island Affaire -- Just Another Day in Paradise": The Anna Maria Island Community Center will host its annual fundraiser "An Island Affaire -- Just Another Day in Paradise," beginning with a pre-affaire VIP party at 5 p.m. followed by a champagne reception and dinner at 6 p.m. April 12 at 407 Magnolia Ave., Anna Maria. Spaghetti dinner: State College of Florida, Manatee-Sarasota Go Manatees Relay for Life Team will host a spaghetti dinner 5-6 p.m. April 16 at 5840 26th St. W., Bradenton. During the event, luminary bags will be sold for $5 each to be used at the Relay for Life May 3 event at G.T. Bray Recreational Complex, 5502 33rd Ave. Dr. W., Bradenton. Following the spaghetti dinner, the SCF Manatees baseball team will play Hillsborough Community College at 6 p.m. at Robert C. Wynn Field off 34th Street West and 57th Avenue West. Pinwheel 5K Run: The traditional Elite Fitness Challenge 5K Pinwheel Run will begin with registration 7 a.m. followed by the 8:30 a.m. Kids Dashes, 8:45 a.m. Kids Fitness Challenge, the 9:30 a.m. 5K Pinwheel Run, the 9:35 a.m. One-mile Fitness Run/Walk and the 10 a.m. 5K Elite Fitness Challenge at Nathan Benderson Park at 2500 N. Arts Brunch and Fashion Show: Village of the Arts will host its annual Arts Brunch and Fashion Show 10:30 a.m.-12:30 p.m. April 19 on the patio of Restaurante Ortygia, 1418 13th St. W., Bradenton. "Pines Run to Remember" 5K Run and 1-Mile Walk: Pines of Sarasota will be hosting a 5K Run and 1-Mile Walk "Pines to Remember" beginning with registration at 6:30 a.m. followed by the run/walk at 7:30 a.m. April 26 at Ca' d'Zan, Ringling Museum of art, 5401 Bay Shore Road, Sarasota. Third annual Barefoot Sunday: Leave your shoes for a needy soul and be a part of doing a great good for an effort to provide shoes, sandals, work boots, children's shoes, new or gently worn to any of the three services 7:30 a.m., 9 a.m. or 11 a.m. April 27 at Christ Episcopal Church's third annual Barefoot Sunday at 4030 Manatee Ave. W., Bradenton. "Date Night" Guinness Book of World Records attempt: "Live the Life" is hoping to make the Guinness Book of World Records for the largest number of organized dates on one night in one community on May 9. Couples who participate are requested to make a one-time suggested donation of $25 to Live the Life, after which they will plan their own date night on May 9. The funds raised will benefit Live the Life's mission to help marriages and families in crisis in our local community. Run For The Music 5K: Lakewood Ranch High School, 5500 Lakewood Ranch Blvd., Bradenton

Sarasota Orthopedic Associates will sponsor the Run For The Music 5K race beginning with registration at 7 a.m. followed by the 5K race, a Kids Dash, a 1-mile Fun Run and a Doggie 5K May 10. The chip timed race will follow a 5K course around the high school and county park. There are run categories for all ages and an after party and award presentation for all races.
