Winn-Dixie hiring nearly 200 in Manatee and Sarasota

MANATEE -- Winn-Dixie is hiring nearly 175 people across Manatee and Sarasota counties to help staff the stores it recently purchased from Sweetbay.

The company is looking to hire both full and part-time workers, including managers for stores in Bradenton, Lakewood Ranch, Palmetto and Sarasota. Winn Dixie officials said they expect to hire about 75 people in the Bradenton area and 100 in Sarasota.

The grocer is accepting applications in store and online at www.winn-dixie.com/careers. Positions avail

able include cashiers, baggers, deli, bakery, grocery, dairy, meat and seafood departments.

With competitive salaries and benefits, the grocer hopes to fill various openings in all Sarasota-Bradenton area store locations.

Meredith Holland, a spokes person for Winn Dixie, said that the company is encouraging everyone to apply, even if they don't specifically have grocery store experience.

"We're excited about getting more talent and giving some jobs to the community," she said.
