MANATEE -- A 28-year-old woman was charged with child neglect after her two young children were found home alone late Monday, according to the Manatee County Sheriff's Office.

About 11 p.m., the children's grandmother found them alone at their home in the 4700 block of 46th Avenue West, Bradenton. The children are ages 5 and 8, and they did not have a contact number or a way to call for help if needed, according to a news release.

About 1:45 a.m., their mother, Summer Labelle, arrived home and was arrested on two counts of child neglect, according to the sheriff's office. She was being held without bond at the Manatee County jail.
