April 12, 19: The U.S. Coast Guard Auxiliary Flotillas 81 and 85 will offer boating safety courses on April 12 and 19 at G.T. Bray park, 5801 33rd Ave. Drive W. The course will run from 8 a.m.-12:30 p.m. each day. The cost is $35 per person or $55 per couple sharing a book. Participants will learn about kinds of boats, boating laws, safety equipment, navigation, trailering, storing, boating emergencies and safety issues. The course prepares participants for the Florida Safe Boater's Card. Boat operators born after Jan. 1, 1988, must have the card to operate a motorboat with 10 or more horsepower.
