MANATEE -- An unidentified man is being accused of robbery by sudden snatching.

According to the Manatee County Sheriff's Office, a man between the ages of 28-32 snatched money from a clerk at a Winn Dixie Liquor Store, 2502 Cortez Road W., on Friday.

"The suspect approached the counter and convinced the clerk to hold a $50 bill so he could take a picture of him with the bill," states a news release. "The suspect said he was trying to prove an issue with a friend about the new bills and needed a picture of one."

According to the sheriff's office, the suspect then snatched the bill from the clerk's hands as he pretended to snap a photo and fled into the Orange Grove Mobile Home Park.

The incident occurred around 2 p.m. and the Manatee County Sheriff's County are obtaining video of the incident from the business.
