Chicago, IL (SportsNetwork.com) - The Minnesota Twins activated pitcher Brian Duensing off the paternity list Thursday.

Duensing was placed on the paternity list Monday when his wife, Lisa, gave birth to the couple's second child, Boston Matthew.

Duensing, a left-hander, pitched to a 4.26 ERA in six games in spring training. Last year, he went 6-2 with a 3.98 ERA in 73 relief appearances for the Twins.

The Twins optioned right-hander Michael Tonkin to Triple-A Rochester to make room for Duensing's return.
