River tops Boca in Superclasico

Buenos Aires, Argentina (SportsNetwork.com) - A goal in the 86th minute from Ramiro Funes Mori handed River Plate a 2-1 win over Boca Juniors in the Superclasico.

After a scoreless first half, Manuel Lanzini put River Plate in front in the 58th minute, only for Boca to equalize 10 minutes later through a brilliant free kick from Juan Riquelme that clipped the crossbar on its way into the net.

But River secured its first win over Boca since 2010 when Mori headed home a corner kick four minutes from time to pull River to within one point of leaders Colon, which lost 1-0 at Arsenal to a second-half goal from Milton Caraglio.

Estudiantes was held to a 0-0 draw by Olimpo, while Velez Sarsfield jumped into second place with a 5-1 win over Gimnasia LP behind two goals from Agustin Allione.

Godoy Cruz is two points back of Colon after its 0-0 draw with All Boys and Lanus moved to within two points of the league lead after topping Rosario Central, 2-1, with Carlos Izquierdoz scoring the winning goal in the 83rd minute.

Quilmes snatched a 1-1 draw at Newell's as Gonzalo Rios tallied the equalizer in the 89th minute, Atletico Rafaela and Racing played to a 2-2 draw, Belgrano held on for a 0-0 draw with Argentinos Juniors despite playing the final seven minutes with nine men, while Emanuel Mas scored in stoppage time to help San Lorenzo claim a 2-2 draw at Tigre.
