Holmes Beach police strict about parking by stop signs

March 28, 2014

Beachgoers beware! You can be liable for a $35 fine from the Holmes Beach Police Department for parking within thirty (30) feet of a stop sign.

This ruling also applies if the stop sign is on a street adjacent to the street where you have parked.

Thirty feet is the equivalent to three car lengths. Beware of your surroundings, have eyes in the back of your head (so you can read signs on adjacent streets), and carry a tape measure at all times!
