BCS takesadvantage,upends BR

Despite being limited to five hits, the Bradenton Christian baseball team eked out a 6-3 victory over Braden River thanks to a wild sixth inning, when the Panthers plated five runs on two hits, four walks and a wild pitch.

Aaron Downard kept Bradenton Christian (12-5) close, earning the win on the mound after lasting six innings and allowing three runs on three walks and five hits. He had three strikeouts.

Matt Parrill had two hits and two RBIs for Braden River. Tyler Dyson added two hits for the Pirates.

JV -- Eric Crawford fired a complete game, allowing four hits and an unearned run as the Manatee junior varsity defeated visiting Sarasota 7-1 at G.T. Bray park.

Garret Richelieu and Trent Gillis each knocked in two runs for the Hurricanes (8-5-1). Chris Lehman tripled, and A.J. Colagiovanni doubles.
