Three arrests for drugs charges in downtown Bradenton

BRADENTON -- Police made an arrest for drug trafficking and possession charges early Tuesday, according to the Bradenton Police Department.

An officer was patrolling the downtown Bradenton area at 12:40 a.m. when he smelled marijuana from a parked car south of the Old Main Pub in the 400 block of 12th Street West, according to a police report.

The suspects were reportedly detained while police searched the car and located marijuana, pills and a firearm.

One suspect was arrested on charges of trafficking in a controlled substance, possession of marijuana and possession of a concealed weapon. The second suspect was arrested for possession of marijuana and obstruction, and the third suspect was arrested for possession of marijuana.

The vehicle was also seized under city ordinance.
