Bradenton police arrest juvenile on gun, drug charges

BRADENTON -- A juvenile was arrested Thursday in Bradenton weapons and drug charges, according to Bradenton police.

About 10:53 a.m., an officer saw the boys walking in the 2100 block of Seventh Avenue East during school hours. As the officer approached, one of the boys ran northeast to the 2200 block of Sixth Avenue East, according to a report.

As the officer approached the other boy, he noticed the butt of a .40-caliber handgun sticking out of his pockets. He also found marijuana, according to the report.

The second boy, who also was arrested, was found to be in violation of his probation, police said.
