5 arrested in latest prostitution sting in Sarasota

SARASOTA -- Sarasota police Wednesday arrested five "johns" during an undercover operation targeting prostitution along Tamiami Trail.

The arrests happened at two different locations on North Tamiami Trail, according to a news release.

The men arrested were from Bradenton, Sarasota, Tampa, Ft. Myers and Land O'Lakes, according to the report. They were each charged with solicitation of prostitution.

The operation was conducted the Sarasota Police Department's Street Crimes and Narcotics units.
