Sarasota police investigate shooting of 17-year-old boy

SARASOTA -- A 17-year-old boy was seriously injured in a shooting early Tuesday in Sarasota, according to police.

Just after midnight Monday, officers responded to the 1400 block of 18th Street, Sarasota, where they found the victim, according to a news release.

The victim was taken to Blake Medical Center in Bradenton where he under went surgery for life-threatening injuries.

No arrests have been made in the case.
